Seeds in the Dark
A Samhain Ceremony for the Celtic New Year
Sunday 1 November · 7pm GMT · Online via Zoom · 75 minutes · £33
For our Celtic ancestors, the year did not begin in January. It began here, at Samhain, as the light withdrew and the world turned inward. The old year was laid to rest, and the new one was carried into the dark, where every true beginning takes root.
This is the threshold we are crossing now. The harvest is coming in, what has completed its cycle is ready to be honoured and released, and what wants to grow next is not yet visible. It asks to be planted in the dark and trusted through the long months of winter, held by the soil until its season comes.
In the days around Samhain the veil is thin, and guidance moves more freely between the worlds. We often meet this time by reaching: searching, asking, trying to make contact. This gathering offers another way. Connecting the day after the fires of All Hallows’ Eve, we turn toward receiving. We make ourselves still enough, open enough, to hear what is already being offered.
The Ceremony
Together we will mark the turning of the Celtic year and step across the threshold into the dark half. At the heart of the evening is a guided meditation, created for receiving guidance for the season ahead. From that place of witnessing, you will plant the seeds you are ready to carry through the winter: intentions, visions and prayers entrusted to the dark, to be tended in the months to come.
You are welcome to join live, and the recording will be sent to everyone who books, so you can return to it at the moment that feels most aligned for you.

Preparing Your Space
Before we gather, you may wish to create a simple altar - light a candle to mark the threshold, hold something that represents what is completing: an object, an image or a few written words. Place beside it a seed, bulb, nut or stone to hold what you are planting for the year ahead. You might also include images of your ancestors, or anything that connects you to those who have walked before you, along with a notebook to record what you receive.
"I just wanted to thank you for tonight's event. It was such a powerful moment. I felt truly vibrant, within all my body. I am really, really grateful, and feel it was greatly needed."
"I'm in awe and feel blessed by tonight's session. So much I could say, what you gave us and spoke reflected many things that have come up for me very recently - even down to words, phrases and ideas that i've received in last few days. This is a perfect time for the new."
