We know that life is made of polarities. I believe, in fact, that everything sits somewhere on a spectrum, and the moment we know where we're standing, we can begin to adjust our opinion, point of view, belief - leaning from one opposite toward another, until we find the alignment that lives somewhere in between.
Opposition is what provides us differing points of view, imagination, creativity, potential for change. If everything were the same, it would be lifeless, stagnant. Esther Hicks, channelling Abraham, offers a view I've always loved: that contrast isn't a mistake, but a mechanism - the very thing that helps us fine-tune our desires and gain clarity on what we actually want. Nothing is wrong, per se. It simply gives us a taste, a sample, and then we choose again.
Over the past few months, in conversations with clients and friends, I've noticed a pattern: a lot of focus landing on what is not wanted, a triggering of the shadow rather than the light. And I want to remind you that our shadow side isn't what's bad or evil within us. It's simply our unhealed aspects, unaddressed trauma, and pain that hasn't yet been met.
When the sun shines, shadows appear. Whatever we shine a light on shows us, too, where wholeness is still waiting to be claimed.
So here we are, in the midst of Leo Season, the Constant Sun, meeting the parts of us that are inconsistent, hiding, nervous, small. Not bad, just unhealed.
One way to hold this: think of the adult and the child. Leo evokes the consistent nurturer, the provider within, the one who can hold steady. The shadow is where the scared inner child goes to hide. And when we choose to bring those parts forward, to support them, to heal them, we mature and evolve in lighter ways. We stop hiding and we start to shine.
In the lead-up to the first eclipse next week, it might be worth sitting with a few questions rather than turning away from them.
A few years ago, I sat in meditation when these very themes surfaced for me. The vision I received was of myself and my inner child - she's always around four years old - in the cockpit of a spaceship, dancing to the music, off on an adventure. She was my co-pilot - not someone to discipline or correct. I return to this vision, this feeling, any time I notice myself shrinking. Because when I bring all parts of me into the light - to be heard, witnessed, honoured - all of me heals, all of me matures.
Sending blessings to each of you for alignment, visibility, and the capacity to shine bright, exactly as you are.
- Jennifer
P.S. Join us online for the first eclipse - a Total Solar Eclipse in Leo - at its peak, on 12 August at 7pm BST. There are also a few spaces remaining within the eclipse package, for those of you who feel called to really shine this summer and beyond.
