Write the New Rules - it's the Wild West

Uncategorized Nov 02, 2026

I keep a running list on Trello of things I read through regularly. They’re my best reminders, ways to reconnect and get back on track when I’ve drifted. I thought it would be useful to write about them, starting with my newest addition:

Write the new rules - It’s the Wild West.

This was stated in interview by a hip-hop artist, and it stopped my busy brain and helped me return to a truth: life is unpredictable, things are changing all the time, and while the wildness can feel scary, there is movement and magic within it.

We are into the second week of Scorpio season, moving deeper within. The energy doesn’t pull back, and there is greatness within it. Scorpio energy invites us into the unknown so that we can seek deeper truths. We are often asked to leave the comfort of “knowing” behind, so that our minds can shift towards a higher awareness. Scorpio is unapologetic in its search for truth, because it knows our lives are made better for it.

As we move deeper into the darkness of this energy, fear can rise. We are afraid of what we do not yet understand, and we’re tempted to turn back towards the "comfortable known". But I bet you’re not comfortable there. How could you be? My advice: once you’ve taken the first few steps, keep going. Dorothy follows the yellow brick road through the darkness, past the lions and tigers and bears (oh my!), and emerges with a greater understanding of the world she’s in, and of how to return home to herself.

Each life is a journey through the unknown and the not-yet-experienced. As you face what you fear, you are no longer afraid of it. Truths are made known. Worlds open up to you. The path may seem dark while it is coloured by your fear, but it brightens, and it begins to make more sense. Keep moving forward, even when you are afraid. This is where courage is cultivated, and where you come to understand that you are stronger and wiser than you believed.

The world does not feel like a safe place right now. It feels lawless, untamed, often unfriendly. And this is where new identities, alliances, and friendships are forged.

In the days of the Wild West, there was a gun called the Peacemaker. Instead of a weapon, I would suggest that you become the Peacemaker as you face these fears and begin to build the world you want to live within. That is peace: living in alignment, trusting your choices, free of the internal battle you’ve been fighting. That conflict lives within you. And as you heal those fears, peace grows, and so do you.

I’m returning to this phrase often, asking what rules, boundaries, and standards I want to create in a world that is wild, but also full of possibility. I’d love to hear what this ignites within you (please hit reply!.

Sending blessings for courage, wisdom, and deep inner peace, as we create a new world together.
