Are you still trying to prove your worth?

Today, we swim and surf with the Cancer New Moon, a beautiful opportunity to reinvent your identity, to engage your intuition to guide all that you create, and to choose more expansive experiences over the coming season.

I have spent the past few months consuming information around creation, manifesting, and what is required to create change - not only on a mental or emotional level, but within the physical reality too.

The relationship between these has always fascinated and sometimes confused me. Over the years, I've witnessed instant healings, where the body shifts on command. But I have also struggled to open channels to various other aspects within the physical realm. I've explored areas of failure and success, worthiness, proving, striving, allowing, receiving, so many facets that could influence the ability to experience something 'greater' than the current state.

A few weeks ago, I stumbled onto this quote - "I believe you have a responsibility to comport yourself in a manner that gives an example to others. As a young man, I prayed for success. Now I pray just to be worthy of it." -Samuel D Hunter

It struck me on a few different levels, and opened my heart in a new way. Now, I do not believe that we have to prove our worth - I believe that trying to measure worth is another belief system, so based in judgement and fear that it is not real. But within the spirit of that quote lies something deeper than a belief about worthiness...

Worthiness is not about comparing ourselves to others, nor is it about trying to measure what we have done, so that we can then receive. It is about recognising the quality of vibration, and then matching it. Through positive acts, self care, kind words, healthy habits - it matters less what you do, but more about how you do it, and the energy and intention behind it.

Instead of wishing, hoping, praying for something that is outside, intangible, or misunderstood, I pray that I am able shift my focus and vibration so that it matches what I am seeking.

So now, I hope to evolve into my higher self so that I can create from that perspective and paradigm.

I want to rise up into something greater, so that greater potential and opportunity find me.

I desire the ability to show up with integrity, love, peace, grace, all of my gifts, so that I not only experience success myself, but that we all rise up together.

We don't strive to prove our worthiness to some nameless, faceless judge (or insert whoever/whatever you feel you are unconsciously trying to prove yourself to). We deepen and expand, so that the truth within can shine and be shared. We cultivate the courage to step out of the cycles and live within our hearts.

And as we 'become' (which is really more about remembering), the untruths fall away, creating space for what we have been seeking. Whatever we see in the external world that creates a desire, awakens an awareness within, that we already have the capacity to match it. All that is required of us is to drop the distractions, untruths, and judgements that seemingly limit, so that we open to what is waiting for us.

Over the coming weeks, I would encourage you to meditate on the following:

  • How much hard work, proving, punishment, striving do I believe I have to do to be worthy? How well is it actually working?
  • If I stopped playing in the cycles of shame, judgement, lack, and allowed myself to have another perspective or experience, what could unfold?
  • What do I truly desire to experience now or in the near future? Which skills/gifts do I already embody that would make that possible?
  • Which doubts, fears, traumas continue to cycle through my mind and energy field, and stop me from opening to something new? What would it take for me to resolve them?

Remember that we can't really expect something that is not a match to us. If we refuse to move into that vibration, we are not 'worthy' in that the 'worth' or level is not the same. You make yourself worthy of love, joy, abundance, by allowing yourself to match and become them. So instead of working so hard, striving to prove yourself, simply become all that you desire. What could your first step be, just for today?
