’m having a moment with the current astrological transits, and I wanted to bring a little more awareness to Venus - to art, to beauty, and to that deeply felt sense of home…
Venus is in her home sign of Taurus. She is a benefic planet, carrying with her beauty, ease, feminine flow, grace, comfort, and love. Taurus speaks to home, to the body, to what we reside within, and to what we consciously build for ourselves. And when Venus is at home, we are invited to turn inward, to notice what is ready to be updated, softened, healed, or released - so that we can not only feel lighter and freer, but so that we can feel truly, deeply at home within our own bodies and our own lives.
On some level, this may sound obvious - that of course we should feel at home within ourselves - but you might be surprised by how many people feel like strangers in their own lives, like outsiders within their families, their communities, even within their own skin.
I am fully aware that life is not always sunshine and roses, or easy and flowing. And I also know, with equal certainty, that difficulty is not a permanent resident, and that it can give way to a life that feels more beautiful, more interesting, more nourishing, more you.
As Venus begins her journey through Taurus (and will continue here until the 24th), it feels like an invitation to begin again, gently and deliberately. Here’s what I’ll be moving with over the next few weeks, as Venus guides me into new rhythms and new ways of being:
This weekend is devoted to clearing out and decluttering. If something no longer represents who I am now, and I don’t truly love it, it gets to go - blessed and released, making space for someone else to use it, enjoy it, and give it new life.
I’ll be reorganising storage systems, and here’s a small nudge that may land where it needs to - so many people say they need more storage, but more often than not, what they actually need is less stuff. I’ve been making small shifts, moving things into new places, noticing what creates a smoother, more intuitive flow, and allowing whatever is ready to be released to naturally fall away in the process. There is something quietly satisfying about creating order, about letting your space breathe a little more.
And I keep returning to something Peter Walsh said, which echoes through my mind at least once a month: “A place for everything, and everything in its place.” If there isn’t a place for something, then something has to give. Too many pairs of shoes for the wardrobe? Something gets to be released. Living within the natural boundaries of your space isn’t restrictive - it can feel like living artfully, like a quiet devotion to beauty and simplicity.
I also have artwork and photographs that have yet to be hung, waiting patiently for their moment, and it feels like time to let them be seen in all their glory. This will take a little planning, a bit of rearranging, but I know it will shift the entire feeling of each room. Art carries energy, it speaks, it moves, it anchors presence, and I’m ready to let it fully live within my home.
My altar hasn’t yet been arranged for Spring, and my crystals are calling for a little care and attention. I’m going to wake them gently, bring in the light of the season, call in warmth, fire, and sunshine, and set intentions for what is ready to bloom in the months ahead. There is a sense of playfulness in this, a quiet joy in tending to what supports me.
I’ll be moving through my wardrobe, my kitchen drawers, the everyday tools and objects I interact with, noticing what is worn, what is tired, what is ready to be replaced. And if it’s time for new socks, or a fresh spatula, or something small but meaningful, then that too becomes part of the ritual - an act of care, of respect, of choosing quality and presence in the details.
I’m also making a list of the smaller, more random tasks, the bits and pieces that often linger at the edges. And with each thing I write down, I feel a little more focused, a little more energised, because I can sense how even these small shifts will ripple out into the feeling of the whole space. And when the space changes, we change within it.
Your home is not a storage unit or a holding place for forgotten things. It is a living, breathing extension of you. And when you begin to treat it with care, with attention, with reverence even, it responds - it holds you more gently, more lovingly, more fully.
I hope this offers a spark of inspiration, a soft nudge toward what might be ready to shift or be beautified within your own space, and in turn, within your own life.
Sending blessings for comfort, ease, and beauty in the everyday,
- Jennifer
