Over years of teaching and holding space, this is one of the questions that is asked, over and over again. I would love to give you a single sentence, but I'll do my best here to simplify a more complex answer.
If I had to sum the answer up, in a potentially unsatisfying answer, it would be this: You never are.
When I look back at my life at the times I waited, desperately wanting to be ready, I recognise that it was never about being fully comfortable or totally "prepared". But that what I wanted to do was important enough to go ahead anyway.
Ready is an illusion. By the time you know all of the details, have planned out every minute, feel totally comfortable, the moment has passed you by. The tension of caring enough for it to make you nervous is actually what gives it life, energy, momentum. Friction isn't a problem unless you allow it to slow you down, or doubt yourself.
This is where time and timing comes into play - I believe that if you ask for the most aligned timing, it's a much better option than waiting to be ready. Timing is a fascinating concept, filled with moving parts, decisions, action, planning. And then allowing yourself to be moved forward with trust and vision.
I am fully aware that this may feel maddening (seriously, I get it!). Its not a concrete answer, but when does life ever really give you one? What becomes clear and steady is what emerges in the action, the impact that is created. And for most of us, Ready is an illusion that maybe feels comfortable, but will allow life to pass you by.
Take a moment to zoom out, to look at your current circumstances and what possibly lies ahead. If you are making choices, taking action, leaning in, the only real comfort comes from knowing that you are expanding yourself, and growing within that process. And growth will always produce. The question then becomes - What do I want, and really desire, to grow?
A few points to ponder over the coming weeks as we move through the eclipse portal:
Ready or not, life moves, it evolves, it creates. You get to choose whether you want to move with it, consciously, or feel moved by it through fear. It's your's to choose.
Sending blessings for divine inspiration, inspired action, and the courage to lean into the discomfort and grow.
- Jennifer
