What would help you Rekindle your Dreams?

I attended a networking event last week (shout out to Wee Bit Social, it's great!) and found myself in a conversation with a group of solopreneurs about our "big, scary" goals. It was fascinating, not only to hear what people hope and dream for, but to notice the edges of their comfort zones, and what they would even allow themselves to consider.

And I'll admit, the conversation was really good for me. It reminded me of where I've allowed things to shrink down, and gave me the nudge to expand my vision again.

There are phases of life where things get complicated - circumstances shift, plans change, priorities evolve, life happens. Sometimes the dream matures into something new. But I also believe that at the core of us, our values endure. Our greatest hopes and deepest aspirations continue to live within us, waiting.

I came across a quote recently about surrounding yourself with people who allow you to grow. Being in that small group reminded me of what it feels like to be around people who dream big, who are devoted to something greater than themselves, and who are inspired to take the steps to build.

At the risk of sounding a little too "motivational speaker-y" (really not my vibe), I wanted to share a bit of this spark, this rekindling of a deeper truth. Because I think we sometimes need to be reminded that our big, scary goals aren't necessarily that scary, or that far off. There's a saying: if it wasn't possible for you, you wouldn't have the vision to see it.

So if you feel you've drifted off course, or your dreams have quietly fallen to the side, it might be time to pick them up again. Or at least, to find the first step back toward them.

We're newly into Taurus Season, a time of planting and growing for the year ahead. And you might as well grow something that truly excites you!

A few points worth sitting with over the coming days:

• What dreams have risen to the surface consistently, over the years, and with a sense of joy?
• If I knew I could reach a goal, what would I truly choose to do or be, rather than settling?
• If I set aside the obligations of everyday life, what would I choose to create or live instead?
• Which hope, goal, or dream feels both scary and exhilarating?

These ideas are worth playing with, talking about, imagining, drawing, considering. At the very least, they can ignite some curiosity, awaken some passion, and remind you of who you really are at the deeper levels.

Let your heart remember what your mind has told you is impossible. And let your mind reconsider, and begin to show you solutions instead.
