The Solution is in How You Frame the Problem

Lately, I've been meditating on solutions—really leaning into the energy of them. There’s been soul-searching, deep pondering, and, if I’m honest, moments of frustration where I’ve demanded clarity.

Here’s what I know to be true: for every problem, there is a solution. Always. But here’s the catch—if we don’t fully understand the problem, we can miss the answer altogether. It’s like trying to treat symptoms without addressing the root cause.

The quality of our questions determines the quality of our answers. If the questions are murky or shallow, the answers we receive will mirror that. And when the answers feel convoluted or make us even more confused, its often because we haven’t stated the problem clearly enough.

So, let me ask you: how do you frame your problems to yourself?

Digging Deeper into the Problem

Over the past few months, I’ve noticed how quickly I label the things that feel 'off' in my life. Sometimes, I focus on the emotions: This is a problem because it makes me feel frustrated, stuck, or lacking. Other times, I zero in on outcomes: I don’t have enough time, resources, or support. And often, it’s about mental clutter: This issue keeps distracting me or pulling my focus.

But here’s the truth—all of these are just symptoms. They point to the problem but don’t define it. When we focus solely on these surface-level pieces, we can miss the deeper issue entirely.

Reframing the Problem

When you face a challenge, pause and ask yourself:

  • Are you caught in the emotions—frustration, pain, loss?
  • Are you assigning blame to others or projecting the issue outward?
  • Or are you willing to step back and really examine how you’ve defined the problem?

Here’s an exercise to try:

  1. Think about a problem in your life right now. It could be something physical, emotional, or even a way of thinking that feels out of alignment.
  2. Condense it into a single sentence: __________ is the problem.
  3. Sit with that statement and breathe.

Notice what happens as you sit with it. What sensations arise in your body? How does your mind react? Do you find yourself weaving a story around it—adding layers, characters, and conflicts?

The story might feel compelling, but its not the whole truth. Strip it away. Let go of the pain, judgment, and drama. What’s left when the story dissolves?

Moving Beyond the Story

Here’s the thing: the problem you’re holding onto might not even be the real problem. Often, its just a projection, a placeholder for something deeper.

To move intuitively toward a solution, step back from the narrative entirely. Allow yourself to soften into the moment, to breathe, and to open. From this space, ask yourself:

  • If I could see this situation without my story, what would become clear?
  • What is the truth of this, beyond my projections?
  • From the highest perspective, how does this look?
  • If I were free from pain or confusion, what might I sense?
  • If I were abundant and open, what could I receive?

Let the Solution Find You

You don’t need to force it. You don’t need to push through, overanalyze, or prove your worth to 'earn' the answer. Solutions often arise not from striving, but from stillness.

When you stop clinging to your fixed idea of the problem, you create space for the truth to emerge. You allow yourself to see the bigger picture and feel the deeper themes at play.

Breathe. Relax. Open.

The solutions are already present. All you need is the willingness to let them in.

How can you approach your challenges today with more clarity and softness? What would happen if you let go of the story and simply listened for the truth?

The answers are waiting for you in the quiet spaces. All you have to do is lean into the unfolding.
