Today, I want to share some insight around healing.
We overcomplicate it.
I hope you can read that sentence and breathe a sigh of relief - not judge yourself for the ways you may have made it harder before, but find solace in knowing it can be so much easier moving ahead.
Obviously, I am a fan of retreats, courses, sessions, and dedicating time and space to focused healing. I offer these, and I also set aside time for my own practices, choosing ones that resonate, that nourish, that speak to my soul.
But I also want to offer another way: the option to heal at any time, all of the time.
We often believe it can only happen in meditation or a specific practice - that we must be still, silent, crying through the pain, pushing our bodies, fixing our minds. We make it so hard on ourselves.
Instead, I invite you to play with the idea that healing happens any time you shift - from something unhealthy to something more nourishing.
Addressing a habit in a healing session can make it easier to choose differently. And doing something differently can create healing. They go hand in hand.
We often long for a bolt of lightning, the voice of God, an instant transformation to prove we’ve changed. Those moments are profound, but they don’t always happen in the everyday.
Every day, though, you can choose something different.
It doesn’t have to be a grand life overhaul.
You can change your life by 1% a day. That’s doable, right?
Each time you choose food that nourishes instead of inflames, you create space to heal - not just in your body, but in your mind and energy field.
Each time you respond with grace instead of reacting from fear, anger, frustration, or sadness, you rewire your mind and body for something new.
Each time you pause, feel into your response, and choose differently, you open a doorway to healing.
Each time you read instead of scroll, speak instead of shut down, listen instead of build your defenses - something shifts within you.
And these shifts can happen every single day.
What’s required is this: a willingness to slow down, to notice when you’re about to default to the old, and to choose the new instead.
Your meditation and healing practices will support you. They’ll anchor the feelings of peace and presence, so you can carry them into the way you live.
You’ll forget sometimes. Old habits may resurface.
And again, you choose differently.
The more you do this, the more you condition yourself for health in body, mind, and spirit.
Take some time this weekend to ponder:
Which habit could I disrupt today that would improve my life, even just a little? Could this improvement grow, often exponentially, over time?
Instead of “waiting until I heal ______,” what could I begin moving ahead with now?
What am I delaying, hesitating on, doubting, that I could begin leaning into?
What would make it easier to choose this change?
What would support me most in following through?
Step by step, you get to choose the changes and witness the healing they bring.
Uncomplicate it.
Let your ideas of healing evolve.
Set aside the belief that it has to be hard.
Let it flow.
