What will you Sacrifice for your Rebirth?

Energetically and spiritually, we're navigating through an interesting few days. Today is Good Friday. Sunday is Easter.

On a spiritual level, these days invite us to examine our lives, and the polarity between sacrifice and renewal.

In many religious teachings, sacrifice is held as a virtue, a necessary part of devotion and transcendence. We’re told stories that exalt those who give up everything to prove their love, their worth, their faith. There’s an underlying belief that to get closer to God, we must surrender what we love most.

I want to offer an alternative view - one that feels higher in both perspective and vibration. One that feels more aligned with the spirit of teachings meant to elevate us, not keep us suffering.

We make choices all day long, hundreds of them.
When to get out of bed. What to eat. What to wear.
And more impactful decisions about our careers, relationships, and health.

Much of our identity is built upon and threaded through these choices.
If I believe I am an athlete, I’m more likely to choose movement and nourishment.
If I see myself as kind or generous, I’ll choose to share what I have.
If I believe I am untrustworthy, I might act in ways that reinforce that narrative - manipulative, self-serving, or closed off.

These identities are complex and layered. Sometimes, we choose the lighter path over the unhealthy one. Sometimes, we don’t.

We carry thousands of labels, roles, and obligations. We’re weighed down by them, bound by what feels dictated.
We become loyal to labels that limit, when we could choose liberation.

So what if that is what sacrifice could mean?
Not giving up what we love, but releasing what no longer serves.
Sacrificing outdated identities, unhealthy behaviours, patterns rooted in fear or shame.

We’re so attached to who we think we are. Some of those ideas are beautiful and true. But many of them keep us in conflict, doubt, and fear.

When we sacrifice the attachment to an identity, choice, or behaviour, we free ourselves. We rise.

Spiritual teachings often speak of “raising your vibration.” But it doesn’t happen just through meditation, yoga, prayer, or study, though all of those can help.
What actually raises your vibration is the shedding of what is false, fear-based, and clinging. So that you can choose truth, light, virtue.

It’s our attachment that keeps us stuck in the past. That keeps us from choosing health, well-being, expansion.

So what will you choose to sacrifice for your greater good?

Over the weekend, spend some time in meditation and reflection:

  • Which emotions motivate your worst choices? Shame? Despair? Anger? Sadness? What would help you relinquish them?

  • What are you ready to sacrifice for your greater good? What would create the most space and freedom?

  • If you could see yourself in a different light, who would you be?

  • Which labels can you surrender, so that the true you can shine through?

You get to choose, again and again.
What will you choose to release for a greater possibility, identity, life?

Sending blessings for lightness, freedom, and expansion your way!
