Space + Time: A Return Home
I recently sat in meditation, moving deeper and deeper within, and experienced one of the most profound healings and realisations I’ve had in a long time. I was shown the relationship between Space and Time - specifically, how creating spaciousness is at the very heart of our healing, our insights, and our ability to truly change.
Take a moment now to tune into your body. Notice any tightness that lies within. Feel the places where there’s a lack of space. Watch how your conditioning, your fixed ideas, and habitual patterns pull you in, causing you to constrict in unnatural ways. The mind, the thoughts, the fear that pulses through, it all contributes to a state of contraction.
Now imagine allowing some expansion. A loosening. Picture your breath deepening, your muscles softening, your mind easing. Thoughts begin to flow more clearly. Emotions move unhindered. Energy starts to circulate freely.
Without space, there’s too much noise. No room to process. You only see what’s right in front of your face, missing the vastness of the horizon, where life actually unfolds. You only hear the repetitive thoughts looping through your mind, instead of the quiet harmony that waits when you open to more.
It’s so easy to get caught in the hustle, the rush, the repetitive rhythm of daily life. We unknowingly choose the same cycles, again and again. Then wonder why we feel off-centre, restless, disconnected.
So what creates space? A boundary.
But not one that’s rigid or overly fixed - those tend to fill with debris, or isolate us from the spaciousness that is already within. The kind of boundary that creates space is conscious, loving, and wise. It’s born from self-respect, clarity, and a desire for something deeper. And it’s not enough to know this, we must live it, embody it.
During my meditation, I saw all my ancestors take a step back. My thoughts paused. My lungs expanded fully. My muscles softened. I stopped fighting for space and, for a moment, I could simply be, with clarity. I was able to choose what I wanted to listen to, see, witness. It wasn’t about pushing anything away, it was about being given the spaciousness to choose, with reverence.
And with that space came time.
Time slowed. I wasn't rushing to solve or fix every thought, belief, or concern. I could focus on what truly mattered in that moment. From that place, healing happened naturally. A higher perspective emerged, one that helped me see what was important, and what was not.
Space allows healing. And you can create more of it, starting today.
Consciously choosing how you spend your time, and what you engage with, is a return Home. It’s a return to the space where your true self lives, and from which all things can grow.
In the coming days, I invite you to reflect on the following:
What time of day can I dedicate to meditation, reflection, journaling, or quiet time in nature?
What would help me truly commit to this practice as a daily ritual?
Where am I overloading my schedule, mind, or body? What habits could I let go of to create more space?
Am I truly taking care of myself? What would real self-care look and feel like?
How might my life shift if I set aside some of the busy, to make space for something deeper, a return Home to myself?
We tell ourselves we’re too busy. That there’s no time. But that story is often the only thing standing between us and the peace, healing, and embodiment we seek.
What will you choose to change today?
Sending blessings for spaciousness, peace, and expansion to each of you!
-Jennifer
