Hello beautiful beings, I hope that you are enjoying the power and heart of Leo Season, and are feeling just a little more courageous, a little less timid or small!
Every once in awhile, I hear a narrative about how when you shine brighter, you're more likely to be hurt, attacked, to evoke jealousy or fear. The storyline revolves around how goodness triggers others toward harmful thought or action. While this idea serves to turn people into victims and martyrs, the good news is that it isn't true...
Take a moment to really think about it - When was the last time you witnessed something that was wholly good, innocent, pure of spirit, and wanted to lash out at it? (I bet you didn't - I bet you wanted to cuddle that kitten or hug that child, or elevate what you were witnessing!)
The false narrative usually stems from a well-meaning person who is trying to 'do the right thing', but has allowed their wounding to motivate them to act in ways that lack in alignment or integrity. More often, this is happening unconsciously, without a desire to create more suffering or drama. But it happens.
Consider the last time you tried to help, but it seemed as though it backfired. Move through any feelings of betrayal or injustice, and go deeper into what was really motivating you, in a negative way.
I've come to realise that over the years, I was overcorrecting - I was trying to make people feel really welcome, at home, as though they belonged (often in spaces were they actually may not have been a great fit/match). I did have a true desire to support them, but looking back, I can also recognise that I was trying to heal a part of myself that felt rejected, outcast, or strange.
When the wounding motivates choice, it will always carry the energy of fear or pain with it. And whatever is created from this will not really serve any of us. Our acts of service become tainted, because they are not really designed to serve another, but the wounded part of ourselves.
This may be hard medicine to swallow, especially if the narrative you've created about yourself is that you're totally innocent, that you're misunderstood, or especially if you believe on some level that you're simply too 'high vibe' for the world you reside in.
Its time to strip back the filters and ideas that make you a messiah or martyr. And recognise where the light is lacking seemingly within, so that you can feel empowered in who you are as a light being (not Light Being), less attached to the identity, and simply reside within the power that you are.
Take some time this week to meditate on the following:
Remember that the light that you are IS power, strength, alignment, and love. It cannot be denied, altered, or diminished. Stop trying to push or prove it, and simply remove all that gets in the way of it being witnessed. Shine bright (without trying so hard to)!
P.S. Thank you Lucia for the More Light, More Power picture above, a beautiful reminder of a clear and simple Truth!
