Every once in awhile, I hear a narrative about how when you shine brighter, you're more likely to be hurt, attacked, to evoke jealousy or fear. The storyline revolves around how goodness triggers others toward harmful thought or action. While this idea serves to turn people into victims and martyrs, the good news is that it isn't true...
Take a moment to really think about it - When was the last time you witnessed something that was wholly good, innocent, pure of spirit, and wanted to lash out at it? (I bet you didn't - I bet you wanted to cuddle that kitten or hug that child, or elevate what you were witnessing!)
The false narrative usually stems from a well-meaning person who is trying to 'do the right thing', but has allowed their wounding to motivate them to act in ways that lack in alignment or integrity. More...
Acting from Strength, not from your Wounds
I have been watching the world around me lately, pondering the motivations that stir/push/move us to act. Various periods throughout history, as well as shifting consciousness, expectations, limitations, and what is considered 'acceptable' have woven throughout the meditations and observations, and I have again, come to the conclusion, that history repeats because we repeat. And that can either serve us in beautiful ways, or slow our chances for healing, progress, freedom.
In terms of our negative choices, behaviours, and reactions, we are able to look back at the wounds and trauma that motivated us to react in such a way. A broken heart motivates us to shy away from vulnerability and a chance at new love. An overly strict or controlling parent can motivate us to avoid making our own choices because that had always been done for us. A manipulative family member may motivate us...
Hello human beings, I hope that you are feeling inspired by the beginning of Spring! We are at the start of a new month with the energy of a new moon, at the beginning of an astrological new year! So it sounds like the perfect time for a fresh start, right?
Well, yes, but first...
Energetically, the energy of our essence (the Sun), our emotional and intuitive body (the Moon), the ways we communicate and think (Mercury) will be conjunct/connected in the energy of the Warrior (Aries/Mars)...
So it may feel empowering for these energies to be moving forward, ready to be inspired, seeking passion and direction. But if we haven't identified a path or direction that will keep that fire burning through healthy alignment, the fire could either go out, we could burn out, or 'burn' those around us, in an attempt to keep the excitement alive.
