Navigating uncertainty can feel like stepping into a foggy unknown. Your mind may play tricks, your body might freeze in fear, or you could feel the pull to flee. Even knowing where to begin can feel like a puzzle with no edges.
I’ve walked through seasons where I’ve been keenly aware of living in the liminal—that in-between space where one paradigm has dissolved, but the next hasn’t fully emerged. Most of the time, I’ve leaned on my intuition, following whispers of guidance and trusting the subtle nudges. But there have also been moments when I’ve felt swallowed by darkness, adrift in uncertainty, with no clear path forward.
Sound familiar?
When fear seemingly takes over, it creates the illusion of a barrier between you and your intuition. The connection is never lost, but the static of self-doubt and worry can drown out your inner knowing. This can feel disorienting, isolating, even unnatural.
Often, we react to this by freezing or fleeing—neither of which moves us toward alignment or clarity.
There’s an invitation in the liminal space: to get still, to listen, to notice what you might be resisting. What are you hiding from? What is consuming your energy and focus? These distractions often point to the heart of the solution.
Instead of succumbing to overwhelm, remember this: Liminal space is pure potential. It is a portal for real choice—a chance to break free from old habits, stories, and patterns. It is liberation at it's finest.
Our minds crave answers we already know. But intuition is guiding us toward a solution beyond what we’ve experienced. That’s why the old ways of thinking or being cannot carry us forward. To walk through the liminal requires surrender—a willingness to trust within the unknown.
Yes, it might feel like fumbling in the dark. But what if you’re fumbling toward ecstasy? (Thank you, Sarah McLachlan, for the poetic reminder.)
As we lean into the deepening darkness of the season, I invite you to meditate on these questions:
Liminal space isn’t a void—it is raw potential. It is the energy of creation waiting for your direction. Let yourself flow with it, not against it. And remember, even in the dark, you are never truly lost. You are simply being called to choose with clarity, courage, and freedom.
Sending blessings to each of you as you courageously follow your intuition!
