How do your own words teach you?

What do your words show you about yourself?

I had the great privilege of speaking at the Dundee Goddess Gathering event over the weekend, and was reminded of the consciousness within language, words, and communication.

The specific words and phrases we choose to speak reflect what we believe. They can show us our deepest doubts and fears, but also our strengths and areas of growth.

When we really pay attention to the specific words we are choosing in any moment, we can become more aware of the patterns we are still looping within, unconsciously creating the same scenarios again and again. And when we become more aware of the pattern, and start to act in different ways, the story and the language around it evolves too.

A lot of emphasis is put upon the power of language. The word Abracadabra means 'I will create as I speak'. But I wonder if it is less about the power of the speech, and more about what those words reflect more deeply from within. If there...

Do you fill the silence, or create space for it?

Hello beautiful beings, I hope that you are feeling some spaciousness within body and mind after yesterday's Gemini New Moon! I had a recent realisation that has made a meaningful difference in how I communicate and receive information, both physically and energetically...

Over the past few months, I've found myself engaged in conversations that were lacking in spaciousness. In each of these, I was interested, engaged, and learned a lot within the sharing. But felt that something was lacking, and that I came away missing something.

And recently, I had a conversation with a friend where we asked each other questions, and allowed time and space to sit with the answers, to breathe through the unconscious thought or distractions, and feel into the deeper truths. And even within a much shorter conversation, I walked away with more clarity, understanding, and a deep sense of being changed within.

A great example of 'less is more'.

I would encourage you to pay attention to...

Are you Preaching to the Choir?

During my meditation this morning, I was asking about ways to be more seen, heard, understood. I was shown an image of preaching to the choir.

Normally, when we use this phrase, we mean that we are making a statement that those around us that already agree. That we won't change minds, or have an effect. But I feel that there is a deeper understanding that could be of use for you now.

Truth is truth. Often, when we express ourselves, there are strands of truth in what we say, to a greater or lesser degree. And sometimes we are expressing ideas in ways that another person isn't able to fully receive, simply because of our language, tone, approach, or mixed messages.

When we talk about tribe, belonging, or resonance, we are looking for those around us who can feel that there is an alignment, but sometimes not all is heard or received.

So we need to learn to speak in other languages, other vibrations, to fully touch Truth on many levels. The more we try to narrow or push, the...

Are your words medicine, or barriers to meaningful change?

As our fears and pain are triggered, we are tempted to lash out, to criticize, and to judge the acts that have contributed to our discomfort.  We rant about injustice, we shout at ignorance, we fight aggression.  This course of action may provide temporary relief, allowing us to feel, momentarily, that we are 'better' than those who create suffering, superior in comparison.

But as we wage war against war, we feed it.

As we cut through the words of another, we cut ourselves.

We are each natural communicators, through our words, our actions, and our choices.  We express ourselves in infinite ways, through our bodies, our minds, and through what we create in our daily lives.  But we often view our communication as our own, within a bubble, limiting its reach, and in what we receive.

True, honest communication is Communion.  It is a tribal sharing, a giving and receiving, a way to understand and...

What is it that Guides you?

(i.e. Are you listening to your Heart or Head?)

How many courses of action are you choosing between right now? Are there too many to count?
Or are there a few clear paths which feel impossible to choose between?

The choices we make now will direct our experiences for the rest of the year.
What do you need to understand in order to make the most aligned choices?

*What are your priorities and what do you value in life?
*How do you want to FEEL?
*What do you want to experience?
*How do you want to spend your time?
*Which aspects of you/your personality do you want to express on a regular basis?
*Which strengths/talents could you express every day?

The more clear you can become about the quality of life you want to have, the easier it can feel to move into flow with it. Allow yourself to connect with the feeling, the essence, and worry less about the details.

And most importantly, get out of your head and into your heart. This has to be felt, intuited, and embodied. Breathe deep and sink in,...
