We are moving towards an amazing New Moon in Virgo. I wanted to break this down a bit so that you can take full advantage of the magic we're immersed in this week!
First, the New Moon... I see it as tabula rasa, a clean slate. Take a moment to feel into the energy of a clean slate, a new beginning. Feel the calm, the quiet, a sense of peace.
The New Moon is dark, without light. For some, this can feel unnerving, with an inability to see what is coming, what we are moving towards. But in the darkness, the past is erased, there is no set path to follow, nothing to fulfill. You are there in the quiet, within your heart, fully present. And fully open to possibility.
In the few days surrounding the New Moon, we plant seeds for the coming weeks and beyond. We are able to make decisions regarding the experiences we would like to have, the ways we want to feel, and the quality of life that we want to live.
In a world of contrast and contradiction, we often look for ways to trade one for another. To change one circumstance for another, one relationship for another… But these exchanges take up time, energy, and often leave us wanting. Our comfort zones are limited and limiting, our past experiences colour our perceptions of what is possible to create. We look to the past and to others around us to see what is on offer, because we believe that we need to follow. But if we are always following the past, we never create a different future, we only create what has been.
We watch other women to see what is acceptable as a woman. We look to other men to act in ways that are expected. We emulate leaders and others in places of power to fill those roles. We watch teachers in an attempt to teach others, or ourselves.
We listen to the stories of our ancestors’ suffering and pain and assume we will endure the same. We read the stories of our histories, full of abuse, pain, and waste,...
(i.e. Are you choosing the path, or avoiding it?)
I don’t know about you, but the next month or two feels as though we are walking hand in hand with fate.
I just finished reading a new Stephen King book, where he talks about how the most important events move on a hinge.
Our choices initiate the swing of the hinge, and our actions commit us to the path.
I believe that we can make small subtle choices, continually adjusting, continually searching. Or we can open wide, be courageous, and commit to the path that we are here to serve upon.
What we choose and commit to now, will ripple through our lives, our trajectories. And you can choose to be aligned with Purpose, or you can take the long, hard road… Which will you choose?
A few questions to meditate on, to help you along the say:
*What am I carrying/doing that is weighing me down? Does it really align? And will it still align in 6 months?
*Am I able to see the potential long-term effect of a...
